Let’s start with the pilots!

Last week, XUL Foundation started to carry out training for teachers in different schools in Cordoba. It was present in the Colegio Ferroviario, in La Trébola, and in the IES Blas Infante. There, XUL Foundation, with the support of the teachers who attended the training in Konya, Turkey, about a month ago, shared their experience with the teachers, talked about good practices and activities that can be developed throughout the course in the classrooms.

During the training, the different modules covered during the visit to Konya were discussed:

-Motivating young people to read.

-Creating Reading Friendly Environments.

-Interactive application of good practice examples.

-Using technology to improve reading skills.

-Introduction to the multimedia toolkit.

-Improving reading comprehension.

In addition, during the presentation, teachers from the same school began to talk about the activities that they themselves carry out independently in their classes, so it was also an opportunity to learn about what is being done in the school itself. There was a debate and, in addition, during the visit to the Railway School, one of the teachers invited the XUL Foundation trainers to go to a classroom where a grandmother was reading a story to children in infant education where they were able to enjoy the faces and the emotion of the pupils when they lived this experience.

A very satisfactory activity both for the staff who gave the training and for the teachers who attended, who showed interest in receiving more information and in attending more training courses related to reading and, in general, to education.
