First Face to Face meeting
1st international meeting of the Erasmus+ project Improve-Prevent Low Reading Interest began in Córdoba, led by the Xul Foundation from Córdoba and in which seven other partners from Belgium, Slovenia, Spain, Italy, Macedonia, Portugal and Türkiye.
The main objective of this project is to promote an interest in reading among young Europeans using innovative teaching methods and stimulating the desire to read in students. During the meeting, which will take place on September 1 and 2, a follow-up of the work carried out to date will be carried out and the next lines of action will be established.
Project Outputs
Among the actions undertaken, the creation of a manual of fifty good practices to involve students in reading stands out. For this, the partners from the different countries have carried out surveys of students from their environment, between 14 and 19 years old, to find out their reading habits and preferences.
In addition, research has been carried out in the seven countries involved in the project to select the best practices of greatest interest. The activity ‘How to promote the book reading campaign’, which aims to involve students as promoters and developers, will also be addressed. As a tool to achieve this, a multimedia toolkit will be created for schools.
Conclusion
Likewise, it will try to involve teachers and provide them with innovative tools and training to attract the interest of young people in reading. Improve is a European project financed by the Erasmus+ program through the Spanish Service for the Internationalization of Education (SEPIE) and has a duration of 24 months. In addition to the Xul Foundation, the Séneca School (Córdoba, Spain), Smart Idea (Slovenia), Jumpin Hub (Portugal), InCo (Italy), CODEC (Belgium), Cebder (Türkiye) and 7 Marsi (Macedonia) participate.
